Our Staff

Our staff are fully committed to delivering the highest standard of care possible.

 

The staff at The Downes treats every resident like a loved one. We like to think of ourselves like a big family.

Our staff have training in:

  • Safeguarding

  • Mental Capacity Act

  • Medication

  • Infection Control

  • Health and Safety

  • Equality and Diversity

Our staff work 24/7. Our care staff are qualified at a variety levels. Our night staff are awake throughout the night to ensure the security and wellbeing of the residents.

Management work between the hours of 9-5 Monday - Friday and are always on call after work hours. If you would like to speak to anyone outside the hours of 9-5 then there will be at least one member of staff on duty who will be able to help.

Registered Home Manager- Natalie Hudson

Natalie has worked in care for 12 years, working in all aspects of care from domestic to manager. Natalie has extensive knowledge of care, working for two of the biggest care companies in Cornwall working in both nursing and residential homes, before joining The Downes in June 2018 as deputy manager. Natalie was promoted to Home Manager in September 2018 and became Registered Home Manager in December 2018. Natalie holds a ILM Level 5, as well Level 2 Dementia Care.

Deputy Manager- Peter Thomas

Peter has worked with Natalie for several years before being employed at The Downes. Peter has worked in care for 11 years, working in both nursing and residential home. Peter joined The Downes in September 2018.

Care Support Manager- Hannah Jenkin

Hannah has worked with both Natalie and Peter previously. Hannah is a qualified teacher as well as holding a level 3 in health and social care. Hannah joined The Downes in July 2018
